Medical Acupuncture involves inserting fine needles at specific sites on the body to relieve musculoskeletal pain, including myofascial trigger point pain. It is also effective for the treatment of post-operative pain and nausea.

Acupuncture needles are inserted into different muscles and trigger points and a neuromuscular twitch response is initiated. Once the area is treated muscles and fascia will be more relaxed. In addition to reducing the symptoms of pain, medical acupuncture treats the cause of pain.

Western medical acupuncture has evolved from Chinese acupuncture and acts mainly by stimulating the nervous system and its modes of action.

During my years of practice I have noticed that the combination of medical acupuncture combined with deep tissue/medical massage can be a really effective treatment for many musculoskeletal issues. The benefits of a combinational treatment appear to last longer than an individual medical acupuncture or deep tissue massage treatment alone.

Medical acupuncture can be a stand-alone treatment or incorporated within any massage treatment modality.

Cured my issue in three sessions

I have had chronic tension in my left shoulder and neck causing severe headaches. I have tried physio, massage, ultrasound with partial relief. Natasha’s medical massage and medical acupuncture combination has cured my issue in three sessions.

What a difference!

I was reluctant to try acupuncture needles but Natasha reassured me so we gave it a try to relieve muscular pain. I am so glad – what a difference.
